Selden Edwards (1939-2018) was an American author and former teacher of English literature at Santa Barbara City College. He is best known for his debut novel, "The Little Book," which took him 30 years to write and was published in 2008. The book is a historical fiction novel that follows the life of a young man named Wheeler Burden who time-travels between his present-day life in the 1980s and his family's past in early 20th-century Vienna. Edwards was born in Utah and spent much of his early life in the Bay Area of California. He was a student at Stanford University during the 1960s and later earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Edwards passed away in 2018 at the age of 79.
